Happy New Years! Hope you all had an incredible time with friends, family, and or loved ones! I’m currently sleeping (god bless the scheduling option on WordPress.org), but am rolling out the Weekend Reads per usual!

Sisley, me and Laura at The Michelberger Hotel

In life:

This recap may be a bit repetitive, as I spoke a bit about last weekend in last week’ weekend reads, but I thought I would fill you guys in a bit more about what I was doing during the break.

Christmastime was pretty quiet – the only time of the year that Berlin is actually dead in fact – but I still managed to pull out some holiday cheer with my my mates. Spent Christmas eve with Artur and his family and chilled with Daniel as well as a new face, Manny at soho house on Christmas Day.

Christmas day was spent at home doing both work and watching old movies, christmas movies, and teen flicks from the 90s and 00s – amongst them “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” and “She’s All That” – the former of which I completely do not remember as a child – Angela l´Lansbury as a witch single-handedly trying to destroy the Nazi Regime with a bunch of orphans? Yeah don’t exactly remember that plot – the latter of which was a lot more sexist but also deprecatingly sardonic.

Me and My New Thrasher hoodie

I also opened the most amazing gift ever from my boyfriend – a Thrasher hoodie. Hands down one of the best gifts I have ever received and has quickly become a staple in my closet.

With mom and pops in Berlin

My family arrived this Tuesday and between working, it has been so lovely to have them here to spend time with. My brother is here as well, but has mainly been living the existence of a vampire since he hasn’t quite adjusted to the time-zone change as well as my parents have.

Wearing my new coat* from Desigual

Wednesday night, me and A (the boy) went to go see Star Wars. The following day I went to lunch with my parents and Vici, a really good friend and co-worker of mine in Mitte which was also accompanied by a quick photo sesh to shoot some stuff for the blog and insta. (When you can combine work and play, do! It saves heaps of time.) Then officially initiated the A to the fam on Friday night when we all went out for dinner.

Sisley, me and Laura at The Michelberger Hotel

Saturday morning, I met up with the lovely Sisley of @thepurelife_ who is currently visiting berlin, as well as two of her friends Laura of @girlxdeparture and Tosca of @toscafierce at the Bowl for brunch, followed some cake at The Michelberger. It is always so incredible to meet up with such wonderful people who have been connected through their love of social media and I really hope to see these lovely ladies again!

After that it was a good few hours of solid freelance design work before heading out to Aaron’s for a quick rest before house party celebrations and a trip to Berghain for New Years eve/day followed by lots of much needed R&R on Sunday. Definitely still feeling this one.

Why Starbucks Spells Your Name Wrong

Ever wonder why those Starbucks employees seem to spell your name every way but the way it’s meant to be spelled? Well watch this.

  • Ooh boyfriend meeting the family! Exciting! Sounds like you’ve had a good time :) yay for cheesy film time. Wishing you a very happy new year. (& Ohh my god that Paris apartment is a dream)

  • I love watching old movies from the early 2000s and childhood favorites during the holidays! It’s so fun to watch them and remember how much I loved them back then. Combining work and play is definitely a good idea. It makes things go by faster, and work isn’t as troublesome and difficult like that. Sounds like you had an awesome time!
As a starbucks barista, watching that video is quite entertaining because I can relate to it so much!
I hope you have an awesome 2017!
