Happy Humpday to all of you lovely individuals out there. Issue 4 has dropped and so far I am so happy with the response it has gotten. Thank you to all of you incredible girls out there who have been reading LFB through all of its incarnations - from a personal blog, to a conscious lifestyle blog, to a Blogazine. We have got a bunch of exciting things planned in the pipeline which we will make public in Issue 5.

I just wanted to take a minute and talk to you guys a little bit about what it is like to branch out on your own and try to make your visions a reality. At the moment we have a team of incredible ladies working for LFB – I took these #girlbosses on as the workload just became way too much for me to handle on my own. I have two girls in my PR Team, two girls working in the Editorial Team along side me, and 5 contributors. At the moment my team members are all on a payroll and this money comes directly out of my pocket because I really believe in building up an online magazine with a unique and strong female voice that is inclusive for all women. As a POC, this project is more relevant and more important to me than ever.

I want to keep LFB running and we are working very hard to secure new (and hopefully longterm!) partnerships with brands we believe in in order to keep bringing you guys fresh and relevant content. I am dedicated to financing LFB out of my own pocket for as long as I am able to, but the reality is that I am not made of endless amounts of money and we need help from you guys as well.

A lot of people seem to be under the impression that bloggers get flown all around the world and get paid thousands of dollars or euros per product placement. While this is the case for huge bloggers and youtubers with millions of viewers, at the size LFB currently sits, this just is not happening. While we are so thankful for the gifted items we receive and the events we get invited to, these do not pay the bills or the salaries of the LFB staff. We are lucky enough to secure some amazing partnerships with amazing brands but at this stage, this money alone cannot keep us afloat.

We are happy to continue to produce thoughtful, well-written and strongly photographed content free of charge, but in order to have the freedom to do so, we need your help. It would mean the world to me and the rest of the team if you are able to make a monthly contribution to keep us running. A donation of 2€ (less than a single subway ride), 5€ (the price of a Starbucks latte) or 10€ (less than the price of a single movie ticket) euros a month means we can stay a float and continue to bring you our perspective on the world. And for those of you interested in donating even more, we would be stoked. For all that donate we will also have a small surprise for you as well. Click the bottom below to show us some love.

Sincerely,

Your Editor-in-Chief, Rae
