Fall used to be my favorite season, until I started skateboarding this summer. Ever since then, I have been dreaming of living someplace like California. Life changes a lot when your greatest hobby is dependent on the weather. It also doesn’t help that fall generally marks the beginning of cloudy days for months on end. And still, some switch went off in my head last week like some seasonal inner clock as the sun continued to shine, but the crisp air set in and leaves began to change colors that had me unhealthily excited for this Autumn.
Now, I know all bloggers seem to somehow be obsessed with all things cozy and PSL related, but I think my love for fall is rooted in the traditions that are now so far away from me as an Ex-Pat. There is just something about Autumn – with Halloween and Thanksgiving – that feels so quintessentially American. If Berlin chooses to actually remain sunny this fall, I’m thinking my love for the season will return. Until then, I’ll be dreaming of hay rides, cider donuts, and pumpkin carvings. Still, no one says I can’t turn my own home into the most festively fall-themed flat in all of Berlin. Holding out until October 1st, but then I’m whipping out the copper pumpkins, fairy lights, and fake fur blankets and turning this flat into the most stereotypically clichee bloggers paradise this side of Berlin and I’Ll be damned if anyone tries to stand in my way.
