Christmas Day - Betti and Rae - lovefromberlin.net

001: Volunteered on Christmas Eve at an emergency housing location for refugees from war-torn countries. Lately I have been feeling a bit dissatisfied with my own life and I really do find that when you just sort of get outside yourself, focus on other people, and step away from your own gloomy attitude, a lot of things seem to sort themselves out naturally. Plus I am a firm believer that it is up to all of us to help other on a regular basis in any way we can.
002: Had the most AMAZING Christmas Day with some of the most awesome people I know in Berlin. We full on adulted and made one of the delicious meals ever full of a vegan & veggie roast, vegan latkas, perogie, duck, cooked veggies, and a cheesy cauliflower casserole. For dessert there were vegan cookies and cheesecake. Dinner was followed by “Home Alone.” Perfect end to the holiday season.
003: Meeting with Betti today to discuss the editoral calendar for January. Could not be more excited!

Hey Angelina! Thanks so much, and yes there was some serious adulting going on! Eating the delicious Christmas leftovers the next day also felt like the real deal as I remember eating left overs from Thanksgiving (no Christmas since my family doesn’t celebrate) growing up, and I always felt like it was just part in parcel of the whole holiday season. And that is really great that you were able to give back on Christmas Eve a few years ago as well. I think that oftentimes we get so wrapped up in ourselves that it is important to step back and remind ourselves that it is not all about us.

  • Anything followed by Home Alone is a winner in my books. Glad you had a good time with your Berlin fam.
