In the Home is all about interior design and making your cozy space your own.

A while back, I shared some photos of bohemian plant decor. Since then, I have been working on my small collection, which some of you may have seen if you follow LFB instagram. Not only am I totally sold on the whole succulent trend, succulents are kind of awesome for cat owners like me whose little kitties can’t seem to get enough of eating my houseplants (non-poisonous, of course!), throwing it up all over my flat, and then doing it all over again. (This has sadly been the death of many a houseplant). This little guy is hanging out in the living room along with a little air plant. I’ve also got an aloe vera plant in my bedroom and a palm (that probably won’t last long due to my furry friends). There’s just something about houseplants that brighten my mood and make my space more liveable

Which, according to Treehuger.com makes sense, because Plants:

  • help you work better
  • clean the air
  • help ward off illness
  • help us breathe better
  • aid in healing

Now, I’m not sure if succulents count, but I’de like to believe they do too. What kind of plant do you have in your own home? Are you a fan of adding a bit of green to your life?

  • Aww so cute! Now that I think about it I don’t have a single plant in the place… my mum loves her pot plants though haha.

“pot plants” did I read that correctly?!

Recently read how great plants are for our health, certain plants help with certain things, I may have to start my own little garden! Great post hun.

Thanks Eloise! And hope you start your garden soon!

  • I don’t have a green thumb at all, so I mainly have succulents and cactuses in my home. I’m starting to have a lot of them (15 to 20). I also have an orchid, a clorophytum, an aloe vera, and a tillandsia ! I think having a few plants in a room really helps it feeling more alive and it’s so relaxing to take care of them, so satisfying to see flowers bloom.. I cannot wait to have a house with a garden of my own !

oh wow that is quite a lot but I really love the way a home looks when it’s full of lots of plants. Hope you get a garden of your own soon!

  • I don’t have any potted plants in my room but I feel like they are the best way to liven up your room. I think I would get an aloe vera plant, they are incredible helpful in general <3

      Oh definitely ;)

  • Ughhhhh I’m so jealous haha, I haven’t been able to get my succulents to thrive! Most of them are underwatered or overwatered and I can’t seem to find a perfect balance. I’ve tried propogating a few, but no luck yet! I love how they really add to a space though, so hopefully my green thumb will come around soon!

Oh no! Yeah, finding that balance for all house plants is never an easy task. I always try to ask a florist how much water a plant should get and they just kind of shrug like it’s simple and give vague measurements which always result in me over or under watering too :(

  • It’s funny how cats destroy all of the plants! x

      and sad too!

  • Ditsy Sprinkles

I don’t have any potted plants but I always have fresh flowers around my home :)

That is lovely – I used to do this a lot last summer until I realized sadly how expensive it was to constantly buy fresh ones, but it is always so lovely to have fresh flowers out. I have to always watch them because of my cats, but it does really brighten up a room and my mood to have flowers around. Plus I always get excited about how seasonal they are so it is always a bit of a surprise what the florist will be offering.

  • Hehe I am too lazy to care for plants so I get fake ones – looks pretty and that’s all that matters to me

I def. think that even fake plants still can create good energy and brighten our moods.

  • I love small and cute plants like the ones you have! I try to always have some flowers in my room as they look so pretty and make me happy – they actually help me work better!

I would love to have more flowers around if it weren’t for my kitties! And yes, I definitely think they boost our moods in general meaning we would definitely work better as well with plants and flowers around.

  • love that plant…so so cute!!

What a lovely post! I absolutely love plants, even though I’m horrible at caring for them. I have about four succulents, a strawberry plant that I recently replanted outside (it’s already given me a couple strawberries!), and I help care for a garden sometimes ♥

  • Succulents are very good for indoors, but don’t over-water them…!

This one looks to be in good condition though.
    it’s a great picture…!

    • rae

Oh definitely – and I tend to forget to water things so even better! And it is a very new recent addition to my flat, so it’s definitely still quite healthy. Hopefully I can keep it alive!
