Earlier this week, my friend Joel and I met up to run some errands and take some photos for LFB. We met in Winsviertel, making a stop over at Bosener and Pinguin Druck – to pick up some paints and flyers, respectively. While in Boesner, walking around the isles, looking at all of the paints and brushes, I was hit with a pretty thick wall of nostalgia and brought back to those late nights that turned into mornings working in the studio back in University. It’s been a long time since I have picked up a piece of charcoal, but I’m hoping to somehow find my way back to drawing.

In the meantime, I have been lusting after not only the beauty of a finished piece of artwork, but the beauty of the act of creating – the moment when a brush touches a canvas, the way water suddenly becomes cloudy when a brush is dipped into it, the scratchy sound of charcoal on paper – and the imperfect beauty of a studio; a room full of chaotic organization, bathed in different colors from splatters and drops of paint.

Holy moly I am so in love with those shots and the work of the girl in the water. SO COOL. Seeing all of these makes me wish I could actually draw at all. That’s one thing I’d love to be good at.

  • I’m either not an artist or understand the art but I actually just love and fond of the artworks. It tells a story in between through my own perspective and sometimes I also have a good time enjoying it.

I did a painting workshop last week and I just love the chaotic art studio it was in. I really enjoyed creating and playing around with textures and colours. It inspired me to create more, not just to make something beautiful, but also to enjoy the progress of creating something.

  • I really miss my old art class in college and all those descriptions you’ve described – also the smell; a mix of paints, wax, and a bit of dust (good dust obv lol) makes me so nostalgic! For this reason I love watercolour painting :)
