In life

Behind the scenes photo from Leni‘s shoot for Blonde magazine

The cold has definitely set in here in Berlin, which means that I am fighting every urge to just simply crawl into bed and hibernate until spring. Despite my aversion for the cold, this week has been extremely productive, assisting at photoshoots, modelling for new instagram friends, attending the Eating Clean launch event, exploring sustainable fashion with Green Fashion Tours, and getting heaps of work done – which has included shooting some stuff for a series on Berlin for Local Wolves. I think the phrase “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” is pretty damned apt as of late. Have still managed to try to strike some kind of work-life balance by seeing the new Snowden film with mates, checking out the new skate park with Aaron, and throwing a movie night this weekend.

I have also ventured into the world of vlogging – which may or may not actually see the light of day. I am still planning on documenting my search for my birthmother, so I figured now is as good a time as ever to start learning basic filming and editing skills, and what better way to start than to film my life?

On the web

Love from Berlin's favorite links from around the web

001: Absolutely loved reading Izzy’s post about making dumplings with Sasane, an organization working hard to help victims of human traffiking find their feet again.
002: Check out this incredible printable line art created by Corina and inspired by “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.”
003: Completely obsessed with the show “Outlander.” It’s a time-travelling period drama which sounds insane, but somehow really works.
004: Now that the cold has set in, why not try this incredible recipe for Roasted butternut squash soup?
005: Always astounded by Julia Trotti’s amazing travel photography.
006: Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of OVERGROWTH.

Video of the week

I am always so impressed by creative youtubers who put in the effort to create something incredibly artistic and well filmed. Quite possibly the best subtle ode to Wes Anderson I have seen since, well, Nacho Punch’s not so subtle “A Porno by Wes Anderson“.
