Located in Berlin Mitte, The Amazing Crocodile Design shop is a delightful find for anyone with a love for design - especially interiors.

The shop is owned and run by architect turned interior designer-Jana Kubischik. While Berlin has no shortage of art and design shops, there aren’t many showcasing young and unknown designers. Jana aims to fill that gap with The Amazing Crocodile. While she does stock established brands, she also promotes new labels from France, The UK, Belgium and The Netherlands that haven’t yet made it to Berlin. A small section of the store is dedicated to presenting unknown names which change every couple of months and are all selected by Jana.  Stylistically, she is drawn to strong colours and likes quirky shapes and unusual materials. Her love for new and experimental work is reflected in the design of the shop, as well as the fun and eccentric pieces inside.

On display this month is a piece by Berlin born designer Enzo Zak Lux who currently studies at Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design and Berlin Weißensee School of Art. Pico Balla is a sculpture consisting of three separate display units made for precious objects. It’s bright and striking and the multi-coloured chambers are designed to highlight the objects that are placed inside. The project is the result of an in-depth study of colour and is inspired by two-dimensional poster designs, fashion and paintings. It’s always great to support fresh, local talent and Lux is definitely one to watch.

Pico Balla will be on display from the 7th July-2nd September so make sure you head down to check it out!
