After living in Germany for more than half a decade, I tend to sort of forget about most American holidays, until something reminds me of them. I swear, I can honestly not remember the last time I actually celebrated the fourth of July. However, there are certain holidays which come around every year that make me miss home. Thanksgiving is one of those holidays. I have done small-scale friendsgivings in previous years, but for the last two years, Thanksgiving simply rolled by uneventfully. This year however, I am planning on a pot luck style Friendsgiving with some of my favorite people in Berlin. There is just something about good food and good company that I can never pass up. Enjoying these Thanksgiving-themed instafinds to get me in the mood for all the baking, cooking, wine and good times that I’ll be having next Thursday. Wishing you guys an relaxing weekend!

  • Nice! I haven’t had a friendsgiving since I’ve alway been home to celebrate it. I may be having a “couplesgiving” (if you can even call it that) this year since my guy and I won’t be able to spend the holiday together. It’s mostly a thought in my head at the moment but I’m leaning towards doing it. Plus, it’ll be fun to get festive all over again.

This is such a great compilation of pictures! They all represent fall so accurately. Honestly, as much as I love Europe, I can’t imagine being somewhere where Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated – I’d take a flight back home lol! Having a potluck style dinner is a great idea – it’ll give you a little taste of home which is always nice :)

Thanks so much, Siffat! And I guess you start to get used to it over the years although I will never get used to seeing Christmas decorations popping up at the end of October/early November! And yes, so happy to be celebrating it this year with friends. In the end, no matter where you celebrate it is always a lovely thing if you are with loved ones.

  • How yummy and pretty!

I think that friendsgivings can also be amazing too. Living so far away from family, it’s always friendsgivings for me as of late. Will you be celebrating with your family this year?

  • Love those photos. I hope you have a good time on Thanksgiving :)
