The best part about interior design and owning your own space is that you can combine your favorite interior styles in any way you see fit to create a space that is uniquely your own. My flat tends to be primarily bohemian and eclectic with minimalistic elements thrown in here and there. However, I am also a huge fan of minimalistic spaces with touches of boho here and there. If this is a style you tend to like but are struggling with how to achieve this look, then these 5 easy tips should get you started.

1: Keep the clutter to a minimum

Minimal spaces look the best when there is the least amount of clutter. Keep counter tops clean and bookshelves orderly. When things are displayed, go with monochrome colors to keep things looking tidy. Be smart about storage and pick furniture that looks clean on the outside that can store all the mess on the inside.

2: Go with White

White bedding and white walls create an entirely airy atmosphere and are all the better for highlighting key pieces of decor like industrial lighting, minimalistic artwork and houseplants.

3: Grid patterns are your friends

If things are feeling just a little bit too bare and you are looking to add some interest to your room, so with gridded bedding. It keeps things dynamic but still looking clean and modern.

4: So are plants and modern artwork

When it comes to decor, go wild with simple graphic pieces, modern artwork, and houseplants.

5: Mix and match boho and minimal elements

By taking key elements from both interior styles and combining them, you will be able to achieve a space that feels intentionally mixed. I love the combination of marble and/or black geometic furniture with more boho elements like wooden palettes woven baskets and vintage furniture.

  • All these rooms are beautiful! I always have such a hard time choosing a “theme” because I’ll see one thing and love it and see another thing and love it too! I think a great base to work off of is from a minimal palette, and then you can add touches of whatever style you like without it getting too cluttered! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
