On one of our days in Puerto Rico, my dad, brother, and I hopped in a cab and took a trip to Old San Juan. We wandered around the small streets, had lunch at a cafe coincidentally named Berlin (after spotting it, I promptly photographed it and decided that lunch had to be had there, of course), found an incredible independent store which focuses primarily on selling local creations (more on that later!), and explored the Castillo San Critóbal.
Although Old San Juan is definitely quite a touristy area of Puerto Rico, it is not to be missed, as the pastel-colored buildings are just too beautiful to pass up and the Castillo San Critóbal is full of such rich history and definitley worth exploring. So for any of you planning to take a trip to Puerto Rico, make sure not to miss this beautiful downtown area.
