The mark of creation to me, in any medium is the ability to create an environment that not only tells a story but that evokes a particular mood and transports you into it’s world. Well written music and visceral paintings have the famous ability to just that. But when incredible photography is married with a vision and it’s subject matter are draped in imaginative clothing, the same kind of other world is created.

Time after time, Free People’s editorials seem to be able to do just that by combining the incredible craftsmanship of tailoring with otherwordly environments in which their clothing seems so at home. Here are just a few of my favorite shots from Free People’s various editorial campaigns:

Free People’s editorials are to die for. I had way too many of their catalogs, so I made a collage on my desk with so many random FP cutouts and put a glass top over them. Out of all of these, the 8th picture is definitely my favorite, but they are so dreamy.

Aren’t they though? I have been in love with them forever. And actually, using their catalogues to make collages sounds like a perfectly good way to be able to display their incredible photography.

  • Wow these look really amazing! Am I the only one who has never heard of Free people before??

  • I love the sleeves on that belted romper! There’s a Free People store near the apartment I’m staying at this summer, but it’s kind of heartbreaking because their clothes are so expensive T_T -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

  • I am someone who loves admiring and thinking about work that others have done, reading your analysis and perspective on Free People’s shoot (a store that I have heard and seen so much about, love the look of, but still doesn’t exist in Aus :( ) – was really lovely.
