We here at LFB are all about women and sports.
Although I would be lying if I told you I was born naturally athletic and was extremely involved in sports throughout my life, I did play football for a few years as a child and ran track in high school and am such a fan of women getting out there and showing the world that we can do any sport just as good as the guys. Funnily enough, as I have gotten older, I have gotten more and more into athletics – particularly yoga and skateboarding. Which is why I am all about the fact that today is Go Skateboarding Day.
GSD is an annual holiday established in 2004 by the International Association of Skateboard Companies whose primary goal is to promote skateboarding. Various events are held on this day in major cities around the globe. Berlin will be hosting their own events, including a meet and grab at both Civilist and Titus, Bottle Flipping Skate Challenge at Pappelplatz, a Cash for Tricks Sesh at a secret location, and the DSS Grand Prix open race event and BBQ.
So wherever you are and whatever level you are, grab a skateboard today and have a sesh or just come out and support your local skate community today.
