Sorry for the absent post yesterday, I came down with one of those 24-hour colds (is that even a thing?) and spent most of Friday and Saturday sleeping. I did, however, make an exception to go out for Tacos with friends for a farewell dinner which may or may not have included lots of margaritas, tequila, beers and a mojito – hey I never said I was very good at being sick! (To be fair, I only had about 10 sips of a mojito over the course of dinner – but! it did still leave me sufficiently “glowy” – asian readers, I am sure you will understand the struggle of the missing enzyme…)

puerto rico - returning to Berlin - lovefromberlin.net

Today was spent holed up in my parents’ house, editing 90% of the photos I took during my stay in both Puerto Rico and the US – so expect more instalments of most of my Puerto Rico posts next week, before LFB returns to it’s usual posting schedule. LFB’s will still be sticking to Sunday’s weekly roundup posts, however.

Now for some updates:

001: VIDEOS
I have decided to bring videos to LFB in order to share video content with you guys, so be sure to add me on youtube, so that you can follow me and LFB in a new way. Now, I have consciously stayed away from youtube, as I do not really view myself as the typical youtube type (nothing wrong with those that are!), but after being asked by a sustainable clothing line to put together a video, I realized it would be great to create a voice on youtube for sustainability and environmentalism in the lifestyle category.

However, my biggest reason for finally starting a youtube channel is that I am slowly making the preparations to begin my search for my birth mother, which will culminate in an eventual trip to Korea. This is a very personal project for me, but as an artist and blogger, as well as social activist, I would like to share the journey with other people in order to bring awareness to the struggles of interracial adoption and to help other adoptees who might also be interested in starting their search.

002: GIVEAWAYS
During my stay in the US, I was able to connect with a few local spots here in Virginia as well as the lovely Alice of typenu, so stay tuned for some exciting giveaways coming to LFB in the next few months!

003: AD SLOTS
LFB sidebar slots are currently open! No fear if you would like to place an ad mid-month – the ad will still run for a full month! Remember, not only will you pop up on my sidebar for a full month, but you will also get a link at the bottom of each post and a full feature in the form of a “Meet the Sponsors” post! LFB has a combined total social media following of 21K+, so go ahead, girl, and get your hustle on.

So that’s it for all the announcements! Now back to your regular scheduled programming

  • Yes, 24 hour colds/bugs are a thing. Just awful, aren’t they? Best of luck in the journey to find your birth mother. I can’t begin to fathom how big a decision this was for you to make or the enormity of the task that awaits you. I wish you all the best. I’ll be watching on YouTube, for sure. x

I seriously think they are too, but always used to fear (before I started freelancing) that my employees wouldn’t believe me if I only took off one day and rolled int he next feeling fine. Thank you so much for your comment and yet it is going to be a pretty insane journey I am sure! So glad to have you along for the ride. I hope to start posting in a month or so.

Oh thank you so much lady, and yes! I will definitely take you up on that offer! It really is personal, but I am hoping that it can make more people aware of a subject that isn’t really discussed any more deeply than which celebrities have adopted. I hope to post videos in the next month or so, so I really hope that you will follow!

  • Nadia

I hope you are feeling much better now, hon. Just like you, I have intentionally stayed away from YT. IF that day comes and I decide to start exploring video content and getting myself out there, it will be something that will resonate with me. I think it is incredible you are going to be searching for your birth mum. I am wishing you best of luck in that and will be thinking about you as you begin that journey <3

Thank you so much! And yes, I do think that not all bloggers are the types of people that translate into Youtubers. For me it is that as much as I do enjoy watching certain youtubers, I myself can’t really blog about makeup and hauls as it just is not me, but approaching fashion and lifestyle as well as deeper issues like adoption in a thoughtful way is something I would really like to try to do. Thank you so much for your comment and I really hope that you will be long for the ride with me.

I definitely think it will be quite the challenge, as I have no filming experience and am a total perfectionist, but we will see how it goes! You guys will definitely have to bear with me at the beginning, as I am sure it will take some time to learn how to film nicely!
