In the Kitchen is where you will find all my recipes and adapted recipes, tried, tested, and eaten.

I’ve decided that pomegranates are the fruit equivalent of someone playing hard to get. “You want me? Well then you’re gonna have to work for it.” Cos let me tell you, it takes me a good 20 minutes to completely de-seed a pomegranate and halfway through I’m always like, seriously, is this really worth it? (Spoiler alert: It is.) Unfortunately, I have to go a bit light on the pomegranate consumption due to some health issues, but for those of you who can indulge in as many of these bad boys as possible, I say, do it.

pomegranate

5 ways to enjoy this gem of a fruit:

001: Add to your morning porridge
002: Add to your favorite yogurt (soy for vegetarians/vegans/lactose-intolerant)
003: In a salad
004: As a topping for your favorite lunch (recipe coming up on LFB soon!)
005: Or just on their own as a snack.

mmh – in a salad sounds wonderful! but it’s great to hear I’m not the only one struggling to de-seed that little f*cker. there must be some kind of trick to it.. after all, there’s a youtube-tutorial for everything somewhere!

    • rae

  • completely setting the taste aside, your photos make it look so delicious! i’m generally too lazy to spend the 10 minutes tapping and tearing the seeds out but i do love it in salads when i happen to have it around. :)

The closest I got to a promegranate is to the body scrub scented ones! I’m always afraid how sour it might taste! I might give it a shot at trying them one day :)
