I am not sure what it is about stark portraits of human beings with faces hidden or only parts of limbs sticking out from under objects, but I have a huge love for this kind of photography.

Maybe because it turns the human body into another object in a composition rather than focusing on the individual, which much of traditional portrait photography tends to do. Below are some of my recent favorites. I hope you enjoy.

  • i am not a huge of fan portrait photography. i mean, i do like some of them (seeing them, not creating them, if that makes sense) but when the composition is formulated like this, i tend to like them more. i’m not sure why either; it’s like there’s something mysterious when part of the human body is hidden – well, that sounds creepy haha.
thanks for sharing them! you always find good things to be curated ;)

  • I love this kind of photography too, I think it makes humans more abstract and also it’s a bit weird and I’m a fan of both of those.
Also I’m so sorry it’s taken me ages to email you back, my emails weren’t sending and I didn’t realise! I will get back to you today <3

This are so visually pleasing! And definitely something I may need to try more of myself. It makes it more about the image as a whole and not the individual in it…I love that.

  • I love these, somehow the lack of faces make it seem like there’s a more interesting story behind them!
